1. How long does a central vacuum installation take?

  • New construction installation takes only about 4-5 hours for an average 2500 sqft. home.
  • Existing home installation usually takes about a day for an average size home.

 

2. Do you need to tear out walls or drywall when installing a central vacuum system in an existing home?

  • . All central vacuum piping, connections, and wiring is routed though the spaces between the walls. Wallboard cutting is kept to a minimum. 

 

3. Do Central Vacuum systems ever get blocked or clogged?

  • It is very rare for a central vacuum system to become clogged and it is also very easy to remove a blockage if this does occur.

 

4. What is the typical life I can expect from a central vacuum system?

  • With normal usage and regular maintenance, you can expect a life of between 15-20 years.

 

5. Where can I store the hose and attachments?

  • Generally people store the attachments in a closet. These components typically utilize less space than a standard upright or canister style vacuum cleaner.

 

6. How often do the bag and the filters need to be changed?

  • The systems we offer are bagless and require little service  
  • The filters are usually cleaned once per year if needed.

 

7. How does the system help with respect to allergies?

  • Yes, The exhaust air can be routed outside the home as part of the installation process making the system 100% dust free.

 

8. I have mostly linoleum and hardwood floors. Why would I want a central vac?

  • Central vacuum system is for all floors. It's excellent on marble, stone, slate . . . you name it. A lot of dirt stays in the room when you dust by hand and dump it into the trash

 

9. Since Central Vacuum is so much more powerful, doesn’t it just ruin the carpet?

  • No. What ruins carpet is the dirt that stays in it. Dirt is an abrasive and when people walk on this abrasive, it wears out the carpet. Central vacuums take out more dirt and therefore, extend the life of your carpeting.

 

10. I’ve got long hallways. Will the central vacuum hose reach?

  • Yes. You can add extensions to it, or you have as many wall inlet valves made as you want.

 

11. Are all central vacuum systems the same?

  • No, they are all custom-designed to fit the size of your home and your household cleaning needs. You may want one wall inlet valve, or a dozen. It is up to you. A central vacuum installer will come to your home to go step-by-step through the process.

 

12. Will it get my home cleaner?

  • Yes. The deep cleaning power of central vacuums lift even the toughest dust, dirt and allergens out of your flooring, furniture and draperies.

 

13. Is it expensive?

  • Central vacuums are comparable to  premium vacuum cleaners in cost.
